Public Notice
The following notices are provided to inform the public of the transfer or sale of property to other units of government, sales that support community open space and multi-family affordable housing supported by federal low-income housing tax credits, sales that support utility improvements, and sales to entities that support community redevelopment or improvements limited to the ability for the purchaser to provide.
Except for sales to government entities, utility companies and affordable housing developers selected through a competitive process, prior to further consideration of the proposed transfer or sale of these properties, the Department invites alternative proposals for consideration from others interested in the acquisition of these properties on or before May 15, 2025 at 4 p.m. local time.

Halsted St. for the disposition of two City-owned parcels to Far South CDC, located at 853 W. 115th St. The parcels are approximately 281,400 square feet, include a vacant one-story 67,000 square-foot retail store, and are identified for the development of affordable rental housing for the project described below. Except as noted above for sales to government entities, utility companies and affordable housing developers selected through a competitive process, prior to further consideration of the proposed transfer or sale of these properties, the Department invites alternative proposals for consideration from others interested in the acquisition of these properties on or before May 1, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. local time. Alternative proposals must include a detailed project description, price, names of the parties making the proposal, evidence of financial qualifications, and capacity to complete the development under the timeline for project implementation.

No proposal will be accepted from any person, firm or corporation who is in default on any loan or debt owned to the City of Chicago, either as principal or surety, or is otherwise in breach of any contract or obligation to the City.

Kedvale Ave. for the development of affordable multi-family rental housing, Developers may propose to utilize the property in support of Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) low income tax credits. IHDA low income tax credit applications require consent from the property owner. The Community Builders Inc received a conditional award of Low Income Housing Tax Credits from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA).
