For Prospective Homeowners
All owner-occupied affordable units under the ARO are administered and price-restricted by the Chicago Housing Trust (CHT). Owner-occupied units must be priced to be affordable to households typically earning no more than 100% of Area Median Income (AMI). Though, the ARO allows households earning up to 120% of AMI to purchase the units. For example, when the units are priced affordable for households earning up to 100% AMI, then income eligibility is set at 120% AMI. Compared to when units are priced affordable for households earning up to 80% AMI, then income eligibility is set at 100% AMI.
You can find a map with CHT units here.
