Rental Subsidy Programs
The Department of Housing provides rental subsidy programs to help provide housing choice options to all Chicago residents. These programs help housing stability to Chicago families, but also support landlords as well.
Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance
In Chicago, the legal rights and responsibilities of both landlords and tenants are covered in the Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance (RLTO).
Security Deposit Interest Rates
The Department of Housing, in conjunction with the City Comptroller, sets the interest rate for security deposits each year.
Technical Assistance Community (TACOM)
Technical Assistance-Community (TACOM, formerly known as Housing Resource Center or HRC) agencies provide housing-related information, problem solving, community events, workshops and housing fairs to assist low- and moderate-income homeowners.
