2025 Wrigley Scooter Parking Pilot
To improve mobility and enhance pedestrian safety around Wrigley Field, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) is launching a shared e-scooter parking pilot program. Building on last year’s efforts to better manage bike and scooter parking during Wrigley events, the initiative introduces designated parking hubs for shared e-scooters and restricts shared scooter riding and parking in high-traffic areas. The goal is to create a safer, more orderly experience for visitors and residents.
Parking hubs for shared scooters will be installed at seven key entry points (“Gateways”) into Wrigleyville. Riders using shared e-scooters will be required to park their scooters in a designated hub before continuing to Wrigley Field on foot. Within these gateway zones, shared scooters will automatically slow to 5 mph to promote safe, controlled movement.
High-traffic areas near Wrigley Field will be designated as no-riding and no-parking zones for shared scooters to protect pedestrian space. These rules will be in effect two hours before, during, and one hour after all Cubs home games and other events at Wrigley Field.
CDOT will monitor the pilot throughout the season and make adjustments as needed. Residents and visitors can report shared scooter parking issues by calling 311 or using the CHI 311 app.
