The Public Safety Training Center (PSTC) Community Room, located at 4417 W. Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60651, is a dynamic and inclusive space designed to foster community collaboration, learning, and civic engagement. Managed by the Office of Public Safety Administration (PSA), the room provides local organizations, government agencies, and non-profits with an accessible venue to host meetings, training sessions, and community-driven initiatives.

The PSTC Community Room is dedicated to:

• Empowering Community Collaboration – Offering a welcoming space where local organizations and residents can connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate on projects that benefit the community.
• Cultivating Inclusivity & Learning – Promoting a culture of civic engagement by providing resources and space for educational programs and discussions.
• Strengthening Community Resilience – Supporting events that enhance community well-being, social cohesion, and sustainable development.

• Capacity: Accommodates up to 30 participants.
• Operating Hours: Open Monday – Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Technology & Equipment: Wi-Fi access, audio-visual capabilities, and furniture arrangements available upon request.
• Accessibility: Fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure an inclusive experience for all attendees.
• Permitted Uses: Community meetings, educational sessions, civic events, and other activities aligned with PSTC’s mission.

Eligibility & Booking Guidelines

• Priority is given to:
  • Government-related activities and public programs.
  • Community organizations and non-profits serving local residents.
• Application Process:
  • Reservations can be made up to three (3) months in advance but no later than seven (7) days before the requested date.
  • Submit a completed *Community Room Reservation Request*.
  • Applicants will receive confirmation within five (5) business days of request submission.
• Reservation Limitations:
  • Maximum 8-hour reservation per event.
  • No entrance fees, fundraising, or sales are permitted.
  • Food and beverages are allowed with prior approval (alcohol is strictly prohibited).

To ensure a welcoming and professional environment, all users must adhere to the following:

• Compliance with Laws & Regulations: All events must align with the City of Chicago’s General Human Rights Ordinance and other applicable policies.
• Respectful Conduct: Harassment, disruptive behavior, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
• Room Setup & Cleanup: Users are responsible for returning the room to its original configuration and maintaining cleanliness.
• Liability & Damages: Organizations must cover any damage incurred during their use of the space.
• Security Considerations: Certain events may require additional security, as determined by PSA management.

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in the denial of future reservations.

• Cancellations require at least 24-hour notice to avoid penalties.
• Repeated cancellations may lead to suspension of reservation privileges.

• Wi-Fi is available but not guaranteed to be secure; users are responsible for their own cybersecurity measures.
• Internet use must be lawful and comply with PSTC’s network security policies (see PSTC Community Room SOP below).
• Prohibited activities include unauthorized access attempts, harassment, and excessive bandwidth consumption.

• Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult/caregiver at all times.
• Caregivers must register themselves and children prior to room usage.
• Disruptive behavior must be addressed immediately to maintain a productive environment.
