DESCRIPTION: Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS),
[Chicago Youth Service Corps RFP]
The Chicago Youth Service Corps (CYSC) is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to fund agencies with experience in civic engagement and leadership programs for youth 16-24. This initiative is a workforce development and civic engagement project aimed at equipping youth with essential job skills while fostering community involvement. The focus of the Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) is to fund between 11-18 programs per year within a specified budget range, each designed to support a minimum number of 20 youth annually. Selected organizations will support youth-led projects and initiatives that address community issues or advocate for positive changes.
The term of contract(s) executed under this RFP will be from March 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025. Based on need, availability of funds and contractor performance, DFSS may grant up to (2) extensions, each lasting no more than one additional year. Continued support will be dependent upon the selected Respondent’s performance and the continued availability of funding.
DFSS anticipates funding 11- 18 agencies, with each agency receiving between $275,577 – $551,154 in one equity zone, depending on the size of their proposed program. DFSS budgets $275,577 for a minimum of 20 youth and 1 youth coordinator and 1 leadership coach. Should respondents apply for more than the minimum 20 youth, they can plan to increase their budget in increments of approximately $275,577 for each additional increments of 20 youth and 1 youth coordinator and 1 leadership coach. Total funding cannot exceed $4,960,382.40.
