The Montrose/Clarendon TIF was designated to foster improvements within the Clarendon Park neighborhood within the Uptown community. The 31-acre district is characterized by vacant institutional buildings, public open spaces, and community facilities. There were no tax generating properties within the district at the time of its designation. Future increment generated by the district is anticipated to support the redevelopment of blighted buildings and improvements to Clarendon Park. Job training and public works improvements are also identified as eligible expenses.
