134th/Avenue K TIF

Designation: 2008    Terminated: 2014

The 134th/Avenue K TIF is intended to support improvements to the area’s industrial properties, open spaces and institutional facilities, as well as residential properties along 132nd, 134th and 136th streets. The 179-acre district is designed to revitalize and restore physical and economic conditions through improvements to local thoroughfares and transportation routes, and through the removal of substandard structures, obsolete building types, deleterious uses and other blighting factors. Goals include site preparation and environmental remediation projects where appropriate, and the integration of new development that is functionally and aesthetically compatible with the area’s natural resources. Job training and day care projects are also supported by the TIF.
