111th Street/Kedzie Avenue Business District

Designation: 1999    Expiration: 2035


Goals for the 111th/Kedzie TIF district include the redevelopment of underutilized land for commercial and public uses, increased landscaping to improve the pedestrian experience, and improvements to local infrastructure involving sidewalks, curbs, gutters, street surfaces and alleys. New stores anticipated to complement existing businesses along 111th Street and Kedzie Avenue include a mix of national and regional retailers and independent local shops. Ongoing public improvements to the 86-acre district are intended to foster renewed private investment in projects that serve the surrounding Mount Greenwood community.
