Ready Build is a new DPD program launched in early 2023 that provides concept plans for the redevelopment of vacant lots on key commercial corridors with walk-up buildings containing ground-level stores and upper-story residences.

The plans include conceptual architectural drawings, cost estimates and other pre-development considerations that help emerging, minority-led development firms to efficiently initiate real estate improvements that anchor key South and West Side commercial corridors. Plans also include rehabilitation considerations for existing buildings.

DPD anticipates up to four development sites will initially participate in the program, with developer applications to be made available by spring 2023.
