Chicago’s second Costco store opened in June 2012 within the Illinois Medical District on the Near West Side. The $48.5 million, 161,000-square-foot store offers more than 3,600 products ranging from groceries to furniture. Staffed by 125 people, the store is expected to generate $27 million in new sales taxes over a 12-year period.
