A $5.6 million project to replace the roof and perform masonry repairs to McCutcheon Elementary School in Uptown would be partly financed through Tax Increment Financing (TIF), under a proposal introduced to City Council today by Mayor Brandon Johnson.
The $3.4 million in TIF would also help pay for the repair of interior finishes damaged by water infiltration. Chicago Public Schools would cover the balance of project costs.
Named for American cartoonist John T. McCutcheon and located at 4865 N. Sheridan Road, the school serves approximately 300 students in grades PK through 8.
