New Completion Date Proposed for Ogden Commons in North Lawndale

The planned completion date for the Ogden Commons commercial complex at 2632-46 W. Ogden Ave. would be extended by approximately 27 months under a revised construction schedule introduced today to City Council.
Previously scheduled for July 2021, the new completion date for the $21.7 million project in North Lawndale is proposed as Oct. 15, 2023. The extension would help the project maintain eligibility for a $2.4 million Neighborhood Opportunity Fund grant approved in April 2019, prior to the project experiencing numerous pandemic-related delays involving building materials, construction, and lease commitments.
The 50,000-square-foot, three-story structure is planned to be occupied by Mt. Sinai Hospital One Lawndale Medical Center on the upper floors and up to three retail tenants at ground level.
