TIF Funding Approved for Four South Side Park Improvements

Four Chicago Park District improvement projects will be funded in their entirety with $1.1 million in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) assistance approved by City Council today.
- Bosley Park , at 3044 S. Bonfield St. in Bridgeport, will receive $550,000 from the Archer/Western TIF for a new playground, new water playground, basketball court resurfacing, athletic field improvements, site access improvements and HVAC upgrades.
- Beverly Park, at 2460 W. 102nd St. in Beverly, will receive $400,000 from the Western Avenue/Rock Island TIF for tennis court ren ovations and the installation of new lighting at two ballfield diamonds.
- Mount Greenwood Park, at 3721 W. 111th St. in Mount Greenwood, will receive $75,000 from the 111th/Kedzie TIF for tennis court restoration.
- Kennedy Park, at 11320 S. Western Ave. in Morgan Park, will receive $40,000 from the Western Avenue/Rock Island TIF for construction of a new batting tunnel for baseball and softball practice.
Chicago’s TIF program allocates property tax growth within designated TIF districts for public improvement projects, affordable housing, economic development and other goals.
