The Collaborative for a Trauma-Informed Chicago (CTI Chicago) is a new transformation initiative funded by CDPH’s Office of Violence Prevention and is building on Chicago’s long commitment to integrate trauma-informed practices. Health & Medicine Policy Research Group (H&M) is convening this cross-sector collaborative of organizations, initiatives, and systems leaders to align existing and promote new efforts to accelerate trauma-informed systems change throughout Chicago.

Mission

CTI Chicago is a collaborative of cross-sector leaders who are working to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Chicagoans at every stage of life by facilitating, encouraging, and accelerating trauma-informed systems change.

CTI Chicago seeks to create responsive systems and healing-centered communities by:

  • Building knowledge about the causes, including structural racism, and impacts of interpersonal, generational and systems trauma;
  • Amplifying and aligning related trainings, events, research, and advocacy;
  • Tracking, documenting and sharing data from existing and emerging TI efforts to show the collective impact of Chicago’s journey to becoming a trauma-informed city.

Vision

Chicagoans feel safe, can heal and thrive in a city that is working together to prevent and address the profound impacts of interpersonal, generational and systems harm caused by structural racism and trauma.
