Upcoming CDPH Vaccine Clinics

Respiratory virus activity is high across the country and Chicago has seen high activity as well. CDPH recommends an annual flu shot and updated COVID-19 vaccination for everyone 6 months and older as the best protection against serious illness from these respiratory viruses. For adults 60 and older, pregnant people, and infants and toddlers under age 2, RSV vaccination or immunization is recommended as well.

CDPH will host two upcoming clinics in North Lawndale and Hermosa to offer no cost vaccines to Chicagoans regardless of insurance or immigration status.

Clinics will be held:

  • Thursday, January 30, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church, 4804 W Polk St.
  • Monday, February 10, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, 5016 W Armitage Ave.

In addition, people can visit a CDPH Immunization Clinic and see the lists of locations and dates where the mobile Care Van will administer vaccines. People with health insurance or Medicare or Medicaid can also go to an in-network pharmacy to get vaccinated.

Free Heart Health Events in February

CDPH and the Chicago Park District have launched an initiative to raise awareness of heart health with February events celebrating Heart Health Month that will take place at park district locations in five Chicago communities with demonstrated health disparities and low life expectancy rates: Homan Square Park (02/06); Hamilton Park (02/13); Garfield Park (02/20); Grand Crossing Park (02/27), and Amundsen Park (02/27).

The events, which take place from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m., will offer free blood pressure and resting heart readings, as well as opportunities to talk with healthcare professionals about improving and maintaining heart health.
