Roseland Michigan Avenue RFQ
In December 2022, the City issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the potential redevelopment of three sites along the Michigan Avenue priority corridor. Prior to issuing the RFQ, the City held a series of meetings with community stakeholders to gather input on the neighborhood's vision for the future of those sites. That input was incorporated into the RFQ and will be considered during the subsequent evaluation process.
Three development team finalists were subsequently selected for each of the three RFQ sites. The developer-designer teams are each receiving a $25,000 stipend to develop proposals that align with previous community visioning sessions for each location, including the former Gately's Peoples Store, the Roseland Theater building and land adjacent to a planned CTA Red Line station.
