The Ohio/Wabash TIF district was designated to foster the preservation and redevelopment of the Tree Studios complex and the adjacent Medinah Temple building. At the time of the TIF's designation, both structures were underutilized and faced uncertain futures. The TIF was established to provide resources for their redevelopment and to ensure their unique architectural features continue to contribute to the character of the River North community. The TIF encompasses a single, nearly four-acre block. TIF increment is also intended to support job training, day care services and relocation costs.
