The re-opening of the former Verson Steel plant in Burnside by A. Finkl & Sons enabled the 134-year-old company to more than quadruple its production of specialty steel alloys. The $161 million project encompasses more than 44 acres, including newly acquired easements that enable upgraded electricity delivery for forging operations. Finkl will maintain 300 jobs in Chicago and add up to 150 more jobs through the project.
