Division of Planning and Policy Survey
This Fall, the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) restructured to create a new Division of Planning and Policy. There are 11 divisions at CDOT; divisions are how CDOT organizes its work by issue area. The purpose of the new Division of Planning and Policy is to lead long-range planning, policy, and engagement efforts at CDOT with an emphasis on projects and programs that integrate transportation modes, build partnerships with diverse stakeholders, and plan for current and future emerging issues.
With the creation of this new Division, CDOT wants to hear from you!
CDOT put together the survey below to better understand the issues and programs you would like the Division to research or develop. Please find some additional context on the types of issues and programs that the Division or CDOT currently works on before you fill out the survey. Thank you for providing your feedback!
The Division of Planning and Policy is currently managing the following:
- CDOT Strategic Plan implementation;
- Clean Transportation program implementation and development;
- Community Engagement; and
- Planning for passenger and freight rail, transit facilities, megaprojects, and complex intersections.
The deadline to submit your response is January 31, 2025.
At www.chicago.gov/cdot, you can read more about the services and programs within all ten divisions of CDOT. At a high level, they include infrastructure management (streets, sidewalks, bridges, traffic signals, etc.), walking and biking safety and access, permitting activities and utility management on the public way, and implementing clean transportation policies and programs.
