CHICAGO CONSTRUCTION CODES + ZONING ORDINANCE
The Chicago Construction Codes establish minimum standards for the construction, alteration, repair, maintenance, and demolition of buildings and other structures. The Chicago Construction Codes work together with the Chicago Zoning Ordinance to regulate how buildings are built and operated in order to protect public health, safety, welfare, and quality of life.
Recent Amendments
The Chicago Construction Codes are adopted and amended by the Chicago City Council through legislation (ordinances).
