Expect Delays on Western Avenue from the South Side to North Side

The Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) is reminding everyone to be aware of traffic impacts this weekend for the 45th Annual Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade which proceeds in waves on Western Avenue northbound from Dan Ryan Woods to Roscoe Street.  Also, on Sunday, the Chicago Bears play the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field at noon. 

 

OEMC will monitor all citywide events from the Operations Center and coordinate public safety resources with the Chicago Police Department, Chicago Fire Department and City of Chicago infrastructure departments.

 

Report Suspicious Activity: If you See Something Say Something. OEMC reminds the public to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activity. If you notice something suspicious, notify onsite security or call 9-1-1. If You See Something, Say Something™ is a national anti-terrorism public awareness campaign that emphasizes the importance of reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities.

 

 

45th Annual Chicagoland Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade – Sunday, December 4

Thousands of motorcycle riders come together for the annual toy drive with assembly of the parade at Dan Ryan Woods, 8300 S. Western Avenue.  The step-off on Sunday is at 9:30 a.m. when riders depart in waves that will allow east/west traffic to flow between waves along Western Avenue.  The riders proceed north on Western Avenue to Roscoe Street, 3300 North Western, then west on Roscoe Street to Campbell Avenue (DePaul College Prep Parking Lot).

Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers – Sunday, December 4

2022 Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza and Wrigleyville

The annual Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza runs through Saturday, December 24.  NOTE: For weekend programming, there will be a full closure of W. Washington Street, including the CTA bus lane, between Clark Street and Dearborn Street starting at 5 a.m. each Saturday morning and ending at 11 p.m. Sunday night on the following dates: December 3–4, 10–11 and 17–18. Hours are Sundays-Thursdays, 11 a.m. –8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. –9 p.m. with special hours on holidays. The Christkindlmarket in Wrigleyville at Gallagher Way, located at 3635 N. Clark Street is also open now through Saturday, December 31.
