Expect additional traffic in the area

The Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) is reminding those attending the Jason Mraz concert at Huntington Pavilion tonight to prepare for continued extreme heat conditions as well as the possibility of thunderstorms.  Concertgoers should remain hydrated and be prepared to take cover should damaging winds or severe thunderstorms threaten the event.  Last night’s Lindsey Stirling concert was cancelled due to severe weather.  The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory in effect through 7 p.m.  

Those utilizing rideshare to go to the concert are urged to use the pedestrian underpass and not be dropped off on Columbus Drive or DuSable Lake Shore Drive, causing traffic disruptions and unsafe crossing.   Rideshare operators have been instructed not to drop off riders on DuSable Lake Shore Drive, but rather at the designated locations. 

Traffic Control Aides (TCAs) will be on hand to direct flow and impacts.  Please heed their instructions.  Motorists should be aware of increased traffic in the area.
