Human Resources Board
The Human Resources Board is charged with the responsibility of conducting hearings of all appeals by any career service employee of discharge, demotion, or suspension for a period of more than ten days upon request of the employee. Additionally, when called upon to do so, the Board has the responsibility of providing advice and counsel to the Mayor and to the Commissioner of Human Resources on all aspects of public personnel administration including, but not limited to, manpower utilization, manpower training, employee grievances and employee salaries, in addition to other duties as provided by the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago
