Event: Queer Fam Pride Jam

Sunday, June 1, 2024, 10am-1pm

Millennium Park, 201 E. Randolph

The Pride Jam celebrates LGBTQ+ families, kids and allies with activities like dance lessons, DJ sets, performances and more in the North Pavilion, tent 10am-1pm at the Chicago House Music Festival.


Principle Barbers

 

Event: The Timbre Music Series and The Timbre Music Festival

  • Monthly series June - October 2024, 3820 W. Ogden

A monthly live music event hosted at Principle Barbers in North Lawndale. The series leads to the Timbre Music Festival, and outdoor music festival focused on storytelling.


Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council

 

Event: Back of the Yards Music and Dance

  • Friday, June 14 – Sunday, June 16, 2024, Fiesta Back of the Yards, Ashland Ave. from 45th St. to 47th St.
  • Saturday, September 7, 2024, Fiesta Patrias, McDowell and 47th St.

An annual community celebration where area merchants, food vendors, artisans, carnival rides and entertainers overtake the streets, in the heart of Chicago’s storied Back of the Yards community.


Westside Cultural Alliance

 

Event: 1865 Juneteenth Festival

A three-day cultural family fun and safe experience in Garfield Park in celebration of Emancipation Day or Juneteenth.


Chicago Loop Alliance

 

Event: Sundays on State

Sundays, June 16 and July 14, 2024

State Street from Lake to Adams

Sundays on State drives Loop Economic recovery to the district by bringing local vendors from under-represented communities to a closed State Street using equitable strategic placemaking. Sundays on State series accelerates the economic recovery, unites the community, and creates joy.

1000 Block W. Argyle from Kenmore to Sheridan

The Argyle Night Market series will feature live cultural, dance, and musical performances in partnership with Elastic Arts and local Uptown performance & non-profit groups.


Greater Englewood CDC

 

Event: Englewood Music Fest

Saturday, September 14, 2024

Halsted near 63rd Street

The Englewood Music Fest will feature local musical artists, food, retail and service vendors, health awareness and screenings, school supplies, youth activities and a senior pavilion.


Timbre Music Festival

 

Saturday, September 21, 1-9pm CST

1908 S. Millard Ave (Millard Ave & Ogden Ave) at the Harmony Community Church parking lot located directly across the street from the Central Park Pink Line station.

Timbre Music Festival features live performances by Jeremy Joel Warren and The Messengers of Black Music, Meagan McNeal, and Blvck Spvde Cosmos. DJ sets by The AfroJazz Ensemble (DJ Sean Alvarez with Corey Wilkes & Friends), Duane Powell, Rae Chardonnay, Joe Kollege, and DJ Rock On.

Masters of Ceremony: Pastah J and Romel Sims

Timbre Music Festival is an opportunity to bring people in the community and throughout Chicago together by featuring the music of artists from the North Lawndale Community and its neighboring communities.
