The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) today announced updated traffic impacts related to the ongoing resurfacing of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive (DLSD) between LaSalle Drive and Hollywood Avenue. Upcoming work will require temporary full closures of all lanes, where work is being performed, beginning the afternoon of Sunday, September 8^th. All work is expected to be completed by late-October.

The upcoming schedule for the week of September 8^th is as follows:

Sunday, September 8^th: Beginning at 3:00 p.m. all northbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Dr. will be closed between Hollywood Ave. and Lawrence Ave. This will include closing all entrance and exit ramps between Lawrence Ave and Hollywood Ave. The northbound exit ramp at Lawrence Ave. will remain open to detour traffic. All lanes will open by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

Monday, September 9^th: Beginning at 7:00 p.m., both northbound and southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Hollywood Ave. and Lawrence Ave. and all ramps will remain open. Beginning at 9:00 p.m. all northbound and southbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Dr. will be closed between Hollywood Ave. and Lawrence Ave. This will include closing all entrance and exit ramps between Lawrence Ave. and Hollywood Ave. The northbound exit ramp and southbound entrance ramp at Lawrence Ave will remain open to detour traffic. All lanes will open by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

Tuesday, September 10^th: Beginning at 7:00 p.m., southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Hollywood Ave. and Lawrence Ave. and all ramps will remain open. Beginning at 9:00 p.m. all southbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Dr. will be closed between Hollywood Ave. and Lawrence Ave. This will include closing all entrance and exit ramps between Lawrence Ave. and Hollywood Ave. The southbound entrance ramp at Lawrence Ave. will remain open to detour traffic. All lanes will open by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

Wednesday, September 11^th: Beginning at 7:00 p.m., northbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Hollywood Ave. and Lawrence Ave. and all ramps will remain open. Beginning at 9:00 p.m. all northbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Dr. will be closed between Hollywood Ave. and Lawrence Ave. This will include closing all entrance and exit ramps between Lawrence Ave and Hollywood Ave. The northbound exit ramp at Lawrence Ave will remain open to detour traffic. All lanes will open by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

Thursday, September 12^th: Beginning at 7:00 p.m., southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane between Hollywood Ave. and Lawrence Ave. and all ramps will remain open. Beginning at 9:00 p.m. all southbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Dr. will be closed between Hollywood Ave and Lawrence Ave. This will include closing all entrance and exit ramps between Lawrence Ave  and Hollywood Ave. The southbound entrance ramp at Lawrence Ave. will remain open to detour traffic. All lanes will open by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.

Friday, September 13^th: The work starting Thursday night requiring full traffic closure will be reopened to traffic by 6:00 a.m.

CDOT advises drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and construction signage when entering and driving near work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be alert for workers and equipment.
