The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced updated traffic impacts related to ongoing repair projects on North and South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

North DuSable Lake Shore Drive – Lawrence Avenue to Hollywood Avenue

June 3 – June 4: Northbound lane closures will be in effect. Between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. three lanes will be closed to traffic.

June 5 – June 6: Southbound lane closures will be in effect. Between 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. three lanes will be closed to traffic.


North DuSable Lake Shore Drive – Belmont Avenue to Fullerton Avenue

June 3 – June 7: Southbound lane closures will be in effect. Between 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. two lanes will be closed to traffic.  One lane will remain closed 24/7 for repairs.  Lane closure to be picked up beginning at noon on June 7.


South DuSable Lake Shore Drive – Roosevelt Road to 31^st Street

June 3 – June 6: Northbound lane closures will be in effect. Two lanes will be closed from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. daily; three lanes will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


Please note that lane closure schedules and work timings are subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

CDOT advises drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling on DLSD, to take alternate routes if possible, and encourages people to use public transportation. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and construction signage when entering and driving near work zones, obey the posted speed limits, drive with extra caution, and be alert for workers and equipment.
