CDOT to Begin Pavement Repairs on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive
Lane Closures Between Roosevelt and 31st to Begin Monday, April 22
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), as part of the 2024 Arterial Resurfacing Program, will be patching segments of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive beginning Monday, April 22. The limits of the work are between Roosevelt Road and 31st Street in both the northbound and southbound directions. The project is expected to last eight weeks.
Scheduled Lane Closures:
April 22 - May 6: Southbound lane closures will be in effect. One lane will remain closed from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily; three lanes will be closed during working hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
May 6 - May 20: Northbound lane closures will be in effect. One lane will remain closed from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily; three lanes will be closed during working hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
May 20 - June 3: Southbound lane closures will be in effect. Two lanes will be closed from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily; three lanes will be closed during daytime working hours between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
June 3 - June 17: Northbound lane closures will be in effect. Two lanes will be closed from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily; three lanes will be closed during daytime working hours between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather and other emergencies.
CDOT advises drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling, to take alternate routes if possible, and encourages people to use public transportation. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and construction signage when entering and driving near work zones, obey the posted speed limits, drive with extra caution, and be alert for workers and equipment.
