CDOT Traffic Alert: Pavement Repairs on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive from 31st Street to 57th Drive
Pre-staging will begin on Friday, September 8, Work to Begin on Monday, September 11
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced it will be conducting pavement patching on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive between 31st Street to 57th Drive. Pre-staging work will begin on Friday, September 8 with repair work beginning on Monday, September 11. The project is expected to last six weeks.
On Friday, September 8, Southbound DuSable Lake Shore Drive will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for pre-staging work.
Beginning Monday, September 11th and lasting for approximately three weeks, southbound DLSD will be reduced to two lanes. During weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane.
Work is anticipated to transition to northbound lanes on Monday, October 9 and last for approximately three weeks.
CDOT advises drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling, to take alternate routes if possible, and encourages people to use public transportation. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and construction signage when entering and driving near work zones, obey the posted speed limits, drive with extra caution, and be alert for workers and equipment.
