Chicago's Soil and Rubble Exchange
In order to facilitate the reuse of excess construction materials and further the City’s goals of recycling, the City launched www.chicagosoilandrubblereuse.com. This website serves as a place for City departments, sister agencies and their contractors to post both available and wanted soil and rubble and to identify reuse opportunities. The website is not available for public access at this time.
Where feasible and appropriate, the City wants to reuse soil and rubble rather than dispose of them in a landfill or quarry. Reuse of soil and rubble will reduce the costs of procuring virgin material and disposing of excess materials, conserve resources and landfill space, and reduce truck traffic and greenhouse gas emissions.
