Alderman Anthony Beale
Mr. Anthony Allen Beale was elected Alderman of the 9th Ward on April 13, 1999. As alderman he serves on various committees such as:
- Committee on Buildings
- Committee on Committees, Rules & Ethics
- Committee on Energy, Environmental Protection & Public Utilities
- Committee on Historical Landmark Preservation
- Committee on Special Events & Cultural Affairs
He serves on the board for Re-development of the Roseland area. He was instrumental in the drive to ban liquor sales in the 9th Ward, and has participated in many marches against violence, crimes and drugs in the community.
Alderman Beale has a distinguished civic background. He has served as president of the 100th Street of Prairie Block Club, acting vice president of United Block Club of Roseland. He is still an active member of Rosemoor Community Association, the 5th District Advisory Committee, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, National Association for the Advancement of colored People (NAACP), Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS), Roseland Redevelopment Ad Hoc Committee and Salem Baptist Church.
Alderman Beale and his wife Dana are the parents of three young children
