Illinois Governor, Chicago Mayor to join U.S. Secret Service for 2024 Democratic National Convention Security Briefing
WASHINGTON, D.C. – On July 25, 2024, the U.S. Secret Service and its public safety partners
will hold a news conference to release the comprehensive public safety map and other security
measures for the 2024 Democratic National Convention, scheduled for Aug. 19-22 in Chicago.
U.S. Secret Service Democratic National Convention Coordinator Jeff Burnside will be joined by
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Chicago Police Superintendent Larry
Snelling, FBI Chicago Acting Special Agent in Charge Lucas Rothaar, Chicago Office of
Emergency Management and Communications Executive Director Jose Tirado, and other
officials to outline the plans.

email. As this is a Federal government facility, those attending will require pre-entry security
