Notice and agenda for the November 18 Police Board public meeting

November 16, 2021

NOTICE
REGULAR MEETING
November 18, 2021

The next regular meeting of the Police Board is scheduled for Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 7:30pm.

To protect the public’s health in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting will take place remotely. There will not be an in-person meeting. The public will have access to the meeting via audio conference. To attend the meeting via audio conference, dial 312-626-6799 and enter the meeting ID 878 6743 3539 (only the meeting ID is needed; if prompted for a participant ID or passcode, press #).

In addition, the meeting will be carried live by CAN-TV (on Chicago cable channel 27 and streamed at cantv.org/live).

Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board. To add your name to the list of speakers, please contact the Board's office at PoliceBoard@cityofchicago.org or 312-742-4194 up to 15 minutes before the meeting begins.

Pursuant to the Open Meetings Act, 5 ILCS 120/7(e), the President of the Police Board has determined that holding the meeting in person is not practical or prudent. The City of Chicago remains subject to the Governor’s disaster proclamation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the disease continues to be a threat, especially to the unvaccinated and those with certain health conditions. The Police Board is therefore having this meeting remotely this month.

The agenda for the public portion of the meeting is as follows:

  1. Approval of the minutes of the previous public meeting
  2. Next regular public meeting of the Police Board: Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 7:30 p.m.
  3. Police disciplinary cases
  4. Report of the Superintendent of Police
  5. Report of the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability
  6. Questions and comments from the public (Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board. To add your name to the list of speakers, please contact the Board's office at 312.742.4194 or PoliceBoard@cityofchicago.org up to 15 minutes before the meeting begins.)

Prior to the public portion of the meeting, the Board will meet in closed session as authorized by Sections 2(c)(1), (3), (4), and (11) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act. The agenda for the closed session is as follows:

  1. Police disciplinary cases
