Chicago Department of Public Health Encourages Chicagoans To Get Vaccinated

WHAT:
Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) officials host a news conference at the 9th Ward COVID-19/Flu vaccination event to remind Chicagoans of the importance of everyone staying up to date on vaccines this respiratory virus season.
CDC and CDPH recommend everyone 6 months and older get the updated COVID-19 vaccine—which protects against coronavirus strains that are currently circulating—as well as an annual flu shot to protect themselves and their loved ones through the holidays and winter season.

BACKGROUND:
CDPH recently released their schedule of COVID-19/flu vaccination clinics, along with guidance to residents on staying healthy through respiratory virus season. In addition to CDPH clinics, vaccines are available at select pharmacies, health clinics and medical offices. For those with private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare: visit a local in-network pharmacy to receive your COVID-19 and flu vaccines. Anyone unsure which providers are in-network, should call their health insurance company before getting vaccinated to avoid out-of-network charges.
