The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced the following update to the ongoing pavement patching and joint repair work on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive between 31st Street and 57th Drive:

On Saturday, October 7, all southbound lanes will reopen.

Beginning Monday, October 9, northbound DLSD between 31^st and 57^th will be reduced to two lanes. During weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., it will be reduced to one lane. 

Work is anticipated to take three weeks.

CDOT advises drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling, to take alternate routes if possible, and encourages people to use public transportation. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and construction signage when entering and driving near work zones, obey the posted speed limits, drive with extra caution, and be alert for workers and equipment.
