The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) announced that, as part of the larger reconstruction of Western Avenue, traffic on Belmont will be restricted to one lane in each direction next Monday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 17 for sewer work.  On Wednesday, May 18, westbound Belmont traffic will be detoured since the intersection will be closed to Belmont through traffic.

Traffic will be detoured north on Western to Roscoe and south on Campbell back to Belmont. This will affect the westbound CTA bus stops in the vicinity.  The westbound detour is expected to be in place for three to five days.  Eastbound traffic will not be impacted during this time.

The overall project is still on schedule and we anticipate reopening a second lane of traffic on Western Ave. this fall.
