Performance Management
In 2016, OBM established a permanent performance management practice which was the intended outcome of a grant received from Bloomberg Philanthropies to establish an ‘Innovation Delivery Team’ (IDT); the original IDT was housed in the Mayor’s Office before it was permanently established in the City’s operating budget and housed within OBM. The purpose of the Performance Management team is to assess select program and department operations, identify efficiencies and opportunities for service improvements, as well as develop recommendations for the implementation and management of these programs. Projects the team has successfully managed include the assessment of the City’s homeless housing programs, review of the Low-Income Housing Trust Fund operations, and various work projects stemming from the Office of Inspector General reports and audits in areas including hiring, employee indebtedness, user fees, and City policies.
