Youth Employment Services
The Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities Youth Employment Program is aimed at proactively combating the high unemployment rate of working-age individuals with disabilities. Together with public and private sector partners, MOPD gives students with disabilities the tools they need to gain future employment through career exploration opportunities and internships.
Our year-long programs include:
- CPS/MOPD F.A.I.R. Event (Fall)
- Job Shadow Day (Spring)
- One Summer Chicago (Summer)
- Chicago Youth Service Corps
My CHI. My Future.
"My CHI. My Future." is a citywide initiative, not merely a program, that encompasses all youth programming, job opportunities, and youth-related activities within the City of Chicago. The primary aim of "My CHI. My Future." is to establish connections between every young individual in the City and various out-of-school programs.
These programs may originate from city departments and sister agencies such as MOPD, Parks, Libraries, DCASE, and more. Additionally, the initiative includes hiring programs like One Summer and Chicago Youth Service Corps, as well as external partner programs with over 220 organizations citywide participating in the My CHI. network. To facilitate this connection, "My CHI. My Future." offers a dedicated website and mobile app for youth to easily access and engage with the available programming.
