Disability Awareness and Etiquette Training
This training identifies appropriate approaches and strategies when interacting with people with disabilities in professional, social, and recreational/leisure settings. Participants will learn to be inclusive of individuals with disabilities while avoiding discriminatory behavior. Disability Awareness training includes techniques on proper etiquette toward a diverse group of people from the disability community, such as; people who are Blind/Visually Impaired; Deaf/Hard of Hearing; Mobility Disabilities; Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, as well as Hidden Disabilities. The use of Person-First Language is also covered.
