Statement from Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot
I am proud to join Senator Durbin, Senator Duckworth and members of our Congressional delegation in calling on the Department of Health and Human Services to consider Chicago as the home for the new Advanced Research Project Agency for Health (ARPA-H), a visionary federal research agency realized by the Biden Administration.
With a focus on equity, ARPA-H will support bold science and research that will push the bounds of innovation across healthcare and life sciences. Chicago is a natural fit, with a rapidly growing healthcare and life sciences sector; world-class research universities; and a talented, diverse workforce. Led by the Chicago Department of Public Health and World Business Chicago, we look forward to making the case for Chicago, home of groundbreaking innovation.
