Mayor Rahm Emanuel today joined DocuSign’s office in Chicago, to announce its newly expanded office and its plan to hire a significant number of new employees locally over the next two years.  DocuSign plans to grow its employee headcount across computer engineering, sales, marketing and customer service. The company will occupy two full floors at 180 N. LaSalle Street as it grows its footprint in Chicago. The expansion is a result of DocuSign’s acquisition of SpringCM in September 2018.

“Chicago leads the country in corporate relocations and business expansion because we have the talent, connectivity and infrastructure businesses need to succeed,” said Mayor Emanuel. “DocuSign’s significant growth in Chicago following the acquisition of SpringCM is further proof that Chicago is not only the city to build a company but also to grow a company.”

DocuSign acquired SpringCM to accelerate customers’ ability to modernize their Systems of Agreement. With the addition of SpringCM’s capabilities in document generation, redlining, advanced document management, and end-to-end agreement workflow, the deal further accelerates DocuSign’s broadening of its solution beyond e-signature to the rest of the agreement process—from preparing to signing, acting-on, and managing agreements.

“We are thrilled to be expanding DocuSign’s Chicago presence and investing in the region with the great local talent this city has to offer. As our Chicago technology community continues to grow and thrive, we see tremendous potential to tap into this impressive market with a wealth of experience to create career opportunities,” said Dan Dal Degan, former CEO of SpringCM and current DocuSign senior vice president.  “Chicago is a very attractive home for technology companies, entrepreneurs, investors and employees and we look forward to growing operations and serving local customers.”

The growth of SpringCM and its acquisition by DocuSign further demonstrates Chicago’s reputation as a global tech and innovation hub. From the city’s average of 334 digital start-ups launched per year to expansion announcements from major companies like Salesforce and Google, tech remains Chicago’s fastest-growing industry sector.

“DocuSign’s expansion in Chicago with SpringCM shows how the innovative work happening here is attracting global tech companies,” said Andrea Zopp, president and CEO of World Business Chicago. “Our thriving tech and innovation ecosystem continue to attract top companies and talent from around the world.”

The announcement of DocuSign’s expansion follows Site Selection magazine naming Chicago the top metro area in the nation for corporate relocation and investment for the sixth consecutive year earlier in the week. A key source for the corporate relocation community, Site Selection magazine focuses on new corporate facility projects with significant impact, such as headquarters, manufacturing plants, R&D and logistics sites.
