Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined Capgemini today to unveil the company’s new advanced technology and development center. The new tech center and expanded office space brings 500 jobs to Chicago and further strengthens Chicago’s presence as a technology and innovation hub.

“Capgemini’s commitment to expanding in Chicago demonstrates the City’s growing strength as a tech and innovation hub,” Mayor Emanuel said. “Companies are drawn to Chicago because we have one of the largest tech talent pools in the country, and I look forward to working with Capgemini to continue building the workforce of the future.”

The new center at 333 W. Wacker Drive is the first in the Midwest and represents part of Capgemini’s worldwide, connected network of innovation centers, designed to serve clients across all major industries. Capgemini’s innovation centers allow diverse teams of experts to develop new technology and digital experiences, while shaping the next wave of world-class talent in fast-growing areas such as digital, cloud, artificial intelligence, customer experience innovation and emerging technology.

The Capgemini office first opened in May 2014. Today, the company has grown to include more than 43,000 square feet over two floors. The expansion will house the company’s 1,200 employees and provide room to grow.
