On February 19, 2020, the City Council further amended the Governmental Ethics Ordinance to prohibit City employees and officials with contract management authority from receiving any work-related compensation from any person, firm, or entity doing work on contracts they manage. This amendment, which takes effect on June 17, 2020, expands pre-existing law, which prohibited them only from having ownership interests in such persons, firms, or entities.
