Read amendments to the Governmental Ethics Ordinance passed on March 13, 2019
March 13, 2019
This afternoon, the City Council enacted two amendments to the Governmental Ethics Ordinance. The first of these took effect immediately on passage, and holds the City’s appointed officials to the same standards of conduct regarding sexual harassment as the City’s 53 elected officials, and makes it a violation for an appointed official to engage in sexual harassment, as defined. The second change will not take effect until January 1, 2020, but it will push the deadline for most filers of annual Statements of Financial Interests with the Board to May 1 every year, from May 31.
