The quarterly concert features special musical performances in the Hall’s Louis Comfort Tiffany art glass dome – the largest Tiffany glass dome in the world. Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist Ariella Granados, known as Sparklmami, opens the October 24th concert with sounds reminiscent of Brazilian jazz, experimental soul, Mexican bolero, and funk.
The concert is headlined by Chicago native Akenya, a multi-genre vocalist, pianist, composer, and producer. Her music is an eclectic synthesis of jazz, hip-hop, soul, pop, classical, and world music. Her eclectic style and keen musicianship has garnered the attention of publications such as The Fader, Afropunk, and The Chicago Tribune, which has heralded her as a “multi-faceted genius.” A Chicago native, Akenya has played nearly every major venue in her hometown including Thalia Hall, Lincoln Hall, and Metro.
American Sign Language Interpretation provided.
