An Invitation From our Hearts to Yours, Chicago

Let’s be real: Chicago knows how to show up—for the food, the festivals, and for each other. From dancing at summer block parties to catching a lakefront breeze, our city moves with energy, love, and a whole lot of heart. And that’s exactly what our events are all about.

The Chicago Department of Public Health’s Events & Programs Calendars are your go-to for everything from health screenings to family festivals, fitness classes, resource fairs, and community pop-ups. It’s more than just a bunch of schedules— it’s a reflection of everything that makes Chicago, well… Chicago. And let’s be real again—there’s no city like ours.

About Our Events & Programs

Who's invited?

You—Chicagoans from every block, every background, and every walk of life. Our events are open to everyone, no matter your age, race, gender, ability, health status nor whether you were born and raised here or just found your way to the city, you’re invited.

Gen Beta, Gen Alpha, Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, Baby Boomers, The Silent Generation, and, with much due respect, The Greatest Generation—you’re all invited.

From caregivers to those receiving care, whether you’re a teen navigating life’s pressures, a new parent seeking support, or a senior staying active and curious, from small business owners to professionals working hard to residents returning home, Long story short, we’re all invited. CDPH embraces and welcomes you.

What’s happening?

The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) is committed to helping residents live healthier, longer lives. In collaboration with real people—our communities, community-based organizations, city agencies, and many other partners—we create events, programs, and provide resources that promote overall well-being, provide health protection options, and support healing, prevention and recovery.

CDPH's vision is really simple: Everyone in Chicago thrives and achieves their optimal health and wellness. Of course we understand that “healthy” looks different for everyone, but seriously, whatever healthy means to you, we’re here to support you.

Please note while attending our events: 1. have fun, these are welcoming spaces and we are happy you are here 2. take the opportunity to have deep conversations with trusted sources like your neighborhood Community Health Worker 3. feel safe and confident that you are receiving guidance from licensed medical providers, nurses, wellness practitioners, leaders, and advocates.

When?

Check our calendars—we’ve got something going on year-round. Find an event near you and bring a friend, a family member, your best friend or partner, the friendly person who always holds the door for you at the corner store. Bring your whole ‘hood if you can.

Where at?

Meet us at CDPH clinics, city parks, public libraries, local community centers, and virtual spaces, even. From Bronzeville to Belmont Cragin, Englewood to Edgewater. From State to the Lake. From 95th & the Red Line to Howard. Downtown to the 100s. From Uptown to Austin. From the Pilsen South Ashland Clinic to our Greater Lawn West 55th Street Clinic. All over the city!

Why, though?

Because your health, your joy, and our 77 communities and 100+ neighborhoods matter. Because a stronger, healthier Chicago literally needs all of us. Because these events aren’t just about information—they’re about trust, support, and real solutions that fit your life. Because without you, there is no Healthy Chicago.

From the sun rising over Lake Michigan to you waiting on public transit while listening to your favorite song to the energy of a Saturday afternoon on Milwaukee Ave., our city is alive with its own rhythm—powered by us all.

You deserve to feel good, be supported, and know exactly where to turn when you need a hand.

So, to be honest, your next move should be to save our calendar page and revisit it often. Go ahead, please browse the calendars below; actually, if you have Google Calendar, you can easily subscribe by adding our calendars to yours.

Cause let’s be real again---This city moves with heart — and so do you.

Take care and thank you, Chicago
