The Chicago Department of Public Health will follow up with smoking complaints against businesses that are not in compliance with the Chicago Clean Indoor Air Ordinance.  This ordinance is intended to protect the health of patrons and workers against the dangers of tobacco smoke, including secondhand smoke.  All complaints should be reported to 311 to ensure that the complaint is documented and is on file.  For additional information requesting an investigation of a smoking complaint, please contact the tobacco control program at 312.747.2138.
