Food Truck Fest

The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) hosts the popular Chicago Food Truck Festival. The festival features a rotating selection of food trucks from around the city and is a great opportunity to support small businesses. The Fest is a long-standing commercial corridor activation designed to support Chicago’s food truck industry while bringing new and diverse lunch options to Chicago’s Loop. Residents and visitors can enjoy comforting classics, tasty treats, and mouthwatering fusion cuisine all in one location.

The 2024 Chicago Food Truck Festival takes place at Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington Street, every Friday beginning May 17 through October 4, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Below are the Friday dates for the 2024 Chicago Food Truck Fest:

  • July 5, 12, 19, 26
  • August 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
  • September 6, 13*, 20, 27
  • October 4

Enjoy flavorful tacos, such as sizzling carne asada or innovative vegetarian delights, at the second annual Taco Throwdown to be held as part of the Chi Food Truck Fest on Friday, September 13, 2024.
Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite tacos sold by participating food trucks from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The winner will be announced at 2:30 pm and be recognized as the People’s Choice winner.
By participating in the voting process, attendees will play a critical role in supporting the local entrepreneurs who make up an important part of our city’s culinary community.
The food truck line-ups and the Chi Food Truck Fest Taco Throwdown winner will be announced on BACP social media platforms using the hashtag #ChiFoodTruckFest.

Chicago Food Truck Fest participating food trucks must be properly licensed by the City of Chicago as a mobile food vehicle. Food truck operators that are interested in participating in next year’s fest must submit a completed application.
