After May 22, CDPH will no longer be updating the COVID-19 Data Dashboard due to recent changes to COVID-19 reporting requirements in Illinois. Please see the CDPH Weekly Media Brief from May 24, 2023 for more information. An archived version of the dashboard, accessible below, will remain available for historical reference.
CDPH will continue to monitor and share data about COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases in Chicago, including in weekly Respiratory Virus Surveillance reports and through the Chicago Data Portal. CDPH is additionally working to develop new data tools and reports to share information about local trends in respiratory virus circulation and impact. These will become available in the coming months.
Survey - Help Improve Community Resilience
As of May 18, 2024, new Illinois' National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (I-NEDSS} modules for reporting new respiratory conditions will be available. This includes changes in the way COVID-19 was reported to Illinois Department of Public Health. Case-based reporting of all COVID cases will no longer be required by providers and other reporters, and Point of Care testing for COVID-19 is no longer reportable. However, laboratories will continue to report positive SARS-CoV-2 testing via ELR; and COVID-19, RSV and seasonal influenza will continue to be reportable by providers only with ICU admissions or pediatric deaths.
Moving into this new era, CDPH is committed to improving community resilience. We are now conducting a survey to better understand how community partners, stakeholders and others used COVID-19 data during the pandemic (2020-2023) and how we can achieve better information exchange to support disease control and emergency response efforts.
Representatives from community-based organizations and other stakeholders can access this 15-minute survey at bit.ly/CDPH_COVIDDataSurvey, which will direct you to our Disease Control ArcGIS Hub Site platform. We will be establishing a Hub Site that enables more efficient coordination between various organizations, a goal that we hope you will support.
