Serving Customers with Disabilities Training Sessions

The Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities wants to make Chicago the most accessible city in the world to visit as well as to live.

To better serve travelers with disabilities, MOPD hosted two trainings in August 2024 for restaurant and hotel staff on serving customers with disabilities, featuring the lived experiences of Chicago residents. These training sessions provide tips on serving and communicating with visitors with different kinds of disabilities, useful for anyone in a customer service role.
